"PJ Shapiro’s art-rock songwriting is literate, multi-leveled, and poetic in the best sense of the word.  He constructs unusual chord voicings and textures on his exotically tuned acoustic guitar and welds to them ideas and language that penetrate the mind.  His “I Know What You’re Made Of”, “Constant”, “Millie Plays Pretend” and the newer “The Rift” are favorites of mine.  The more I listen, the more I hear.  His covers of “Murder by Numbers” and “The Ballad of Serenity” are also perennial crowd-pleasers.  Plus, he rocks."   ~ Geoff Bartley

“P.J. Shapiro is something of a maverick.  He stands out in the
Boston folk/acoustic scene… His voice, lyrics, and melodies can stand alone.”
-Bill Copeland, Metronome Magazine

“A superlative and classy effort.”
-George Maida, WCVE-FM, describing I Knoww What You’re Made Of

"Not many can entertain so convincingly with just guitar and voice however P.J. Shapiro is one of the few that does it well.  Good Stuff!"
-Doug Sloan, Metronome Magazine
